Manav Mandir Refugee Service Project
Date: 18 Jul, 2022

We are very happy to inform you that, with the support of responsible members of society, the Manav Mandir Mission Trust has been able to provide self-employment opportunities to a total of eight Pakistani Hindu refugees from the Majnu-ka-Tila and Signature Bridge settlements. These refugees have been provided with bicycle carts, enabling them to sell kachoris and other items either at one place or by moving around the city on their carts, thereby becoming capable of earning their livelihood and making themselves self-reliant, motivated, and dignified. Seeing the usefulness of these carts, the Trust has set a target to extend this support to 17 more refugees, which will bring the total number to 25.
In addition, we are proud to announce that Pakistani Hindu women refugees living in the Majnu-ka-Tila and Signature Bridge settlements, under our vocational training programme “Sewing and Embroidery Skill Training,” have so far successfully produced 2,000 carry bags.
These activities and programmes will help these refugees realise their potential, become independent, earn their livelihood, and live with dignity. This will also improve their standard of living and give them confidence to connect with the mainstream of society. Due to the current economic situation, we need support from society so that we can continue this noble effort of helping the deprived and marginalised sections. We request you to come forward and join us in shaping the future of these refugees so that they can stand with us in society. This effort will also help make our society a better place to live. With your support and ours, we want these refugees to inspire the coming generation to stand on their own through their hard work. You may contribute to any suitable activity as per your convenience. You may also visit our centres to meet these refugees and become a source of inspiration for them. We will be grateful for your support in this moral cause.
