Holistic Rehabilitation

Core Areas of Support Across All Centres
EDUCATION (Child‑Centred Rehabilitation)
SSP believes that education is the strongest pathway to long-term empowerment and social mobility.
Regular Academic & Bridge Classes
Children receive structured academic instruction that helps them continue their schooling, prevents dropouts, and mainstreams out-of-school children into formal education. Several students have successfully passed Class 10 and Class 12, with some securing admission into prestigious institutions including the University of Delhi.
Academic Material Support
Books, notebooks, pens, school bags, uniforms, and other learning materials are provided regularly based on need and demand.
Support for School Admission
SSP assists families in enrolling children into government and private schools, guiding them through documentation procedures and follow-up processes.
VOCATIONAL TRAINING (Skills for Self‑Reliance)
Women's Skill Development
Women at both centres are trained in tailoring, stitching, and embroidery, enabling them to earn from home or start small enterprises. These trainings build confidence, economic independence, and long-term stability.
Youth Skill Development
Unemployed and school-dropout youth receive training in driving, plumbing, fitting, and other trades. Many have secured immediate employment or started earning independently after completing their training.
LIVELIHOOD CREATION (Dignified Income Opportunities)
SSP believes that a self-reliant family builds a self-reliant community. Livelihood support is therefore one of our most transformative interventions. More than 250 Pakistani Hindu families across multiple camps in Delhi have been provided with livelihood resources that enable them to earn sustainably and live with dignity.
Livelihood Kits Include:
- Rehdis (carts)
- Materials for small vending businesses
- Tools and supplies for trade-related activities
SHELTER, WATER & SANITATION
Shelter & Accommodation Support
For newly arrived families, SSP provides essential materials to construct safe, temporary homes:
- Bamboo poles
- Wooden planks
- Tarpaulins
- Mats
- On-ground construction assistance
Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)
To address water scarcity, SSP has installed handpumps across camps, ensuring reliable access to clean drinking water. This greatly improves hygiene, reduces disease risk, and promotes healthier living conditions.
MEDICAL SUPPORT
SSP provides essential health services to refugees through:
- Regular medical assistance
- Emergency support
- Referrals and partnerships with clinics, hospitals, and NGOs
RELIEF & HUMANITARIAN SUPPORT
SSP responds promptly during emergencies, natural calamities, and periods of distress. Relief camps are organised periodically at both Majnu Ka Tilla and Signature Bridge to ensure no family is left without basic necessities. Types of Relief Support Provided:
- Ration kits (flour, daal, rice, oil, spices, etc.)
- Winter essentials (blankets, warm clothing)
- Clothing and footwear

Wedding Assistance
SSP also supports refugee families during significant life events. For families unable to meet wedding expenses, SSP provides monetary assistance, essential items, or sponsorship for parts of the ceremony. This helps families uphold dignity and cultural traditions during important milestones.

- Daily essentials

- Emergency support
- Emotional care and community bonding
